There are succulents and poppies growing wild. Along the shores you can hunt for sea glass, abalone shells, and driftwood. A short drive inland leads you to lush, misty, towering redwood forests. They have a botanical garden that is unrivaled. We visited historic lighthouse that still boasts its original lens. The shops are quaint and the food delicious.
