Lakeside Campfire - Nostalgia ~ Places Collection

Charcoal grey, bright orange, and fire engine red speckles come together to create my interpretation of a campfire in yarn form. A lot of these submissions were based on water elements or trees and this one felt different to me, but still felt like the type of nostalgia that many people have experienced - community around a campfire.

This comforting picture and story were submitted by @meghan_hof and here’s what she says about her Nostalgic Place - “Growing up a few families and all the kids (which I was one of) spent a week sailing and camping in the Apostle Islands on Lake Superior, Stockton island, at campsite 19 specifically. We would spend the week swimming, playing games, exploring the island, having campfires and laughing ourselves to sleep. The best part is the parents would all sleep in the boats anchored off shore and leave the kids to camp on the island. I have such vivid memories if the older kids being ‘in charge’ but really just annoying everyone by singing (badly) everyone to sleep after we finally crawled in our tents full of mosquito bites on our sunburnt skin.  From the sand to the clear blue of the lake, the driftwood, forest and few pieces of precious beach glass so many color inspirations!” - Thank you so much for your lovely stories, Meghan!

Due to the nature of hand dyed yarn, each skein is unique and may not completely match, but this is what makes hand dyed yarn so fun!
